Position Summary

AEMI is looking to add a Plating Operator / Technician to join the High Reliability Ferrite Chip Bead (HRB) product line. The Plating Operator / Technician will be responsible for performing electroplating of nickel, tin/lead, and gold on to passive electronic components utilizing a barrel plating operation. The Plating Operator / Technician will be responsible for adhering to all procedures, documentation, quality management standards, and environmental, health, and safety requirements. The Plating Operator / Technician is a key contributor to process control standards and will work extremely closely with other plating operators / technicians, the Senior Plating Engineer, and the HRB Product Manager to ensure the high level of quality and reliability is maintained.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate all equipment related to the electroplating process according to the process instructions and specifications
  • Monitor the electroplating process and key process indicators, adjust parameters to ensure quality standards are adhered to while meeting production throughput goals
  • Perform visual inspection and measurements to identify process defects that may impact quality
  • Communicate process observations with key members of the production team
  • Maintain proper chemical balances and perform regular maintenance on plating baths
  • Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed
  • Collaborate with team members and assist with troubleshooting process issues
  • Shift Requirement: This role will be a second shift position working 2:30 pm - 12 am. Training will be performed during first shift and then will transition to second shift at the conclusion of the training period (based upon employee experience). Flexibility with scheduling strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior manufacturing work experience required with aerospace or medical industry preferred
  • Prior experience in electroplating or metal finishing is preferred
  • Ability to work with chemicals while meeting all safety and environmental protocols
  • Attention to details and organization are required along with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to all pre-established guidelines for product safety, awareness, and quality management
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions
  • US Citizen or Permanent resident (Green Card Holder)
